Teledyne Micropac is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Planner to coordinate production schedules, material availability, and manufacturing priorities in support of customer delivery commitments. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining production plans, balancing capacity and demand, monitoring workflow, and collaborating with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Program Management teams to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities

- →Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
- →Create and manage master production plans to support business objectives and customer commitments.
- →Analyze production requirements and identify capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and scheduling conflicts.
- →Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- →Monitor work-in-process (WIP) and manufacturing throughput to support schedule adherence.
- →Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations leadership to prioritize production activities.
- →Review customer orders, forecasts, and backlog to align production schedules with business requirements.
- →Maintain and update ERP/MRP systems to ensure accurate planning data.
- →Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- →On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- →Schedule Attainment
- →Inventory Levels
- →Work-in-Process (WIP)
- →Manufacturing Cycle Time
- →Capacity Utilization
- →Support Sales, Program Management, and Customer Service with delivery commitments and schedule changes.
- →Lead planning meetings and communicate schedule risks and mitigation plans.
- →Develop recovery plans for material shortages, manufacturing delays, and unexpected demand changes.
- →Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
- →Support audits and compliance requirements associated with aerospace, defense, and quality management systems.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of production planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing planning processes, inventory control, and capacity planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of demand planning, production planning, and inventory management.
- Ability to interpret forecasts, production capacity, and customer demand requirements.
- Advanced analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Experience in semiconductor, microelectronics, aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing.
- APICS/ASCM Certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent).
- Experience with government contracts and defense industry requirements.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
