The VP, New Transaction Integration supports the financial integration of new transactions, including legal entity acquisitions and/or formation, reinsurance transactions, and certain investment transactions, including securitizations, debt issuance, and complex investment structures. Reporting to the SVP, New Transactions Finance Integration, this role focuses on executing initiatives related to accounting considerations, financial reporting, audit compliance, internal controls, and financial analysis of each transaction. The role will also oversee the integration of each deal into the company systems including the reinsurance, investment and general ledger systems.
The position plays a critical role in ensuring that all new transactions and business initiatives are implemented in alignment with internal control frameworks, accounting policies, financial reporting accuracy, and organizational strategy.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or
- →CPA or equivalent certification
- →10-12 years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial project management, within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
- →Strong understanding of ICFR, audit practices, US GAAP, and financial reporting controls.
- →Extensive knowledge of Life and Annuity insurance products and related accounting
- →Extensive knowledge of reinsurance transaction structures including coinsurance, modified coinsurance and FWH
- →Experience managing large-scale integration or financial transformation projects.
- →Familiarity with capital markets transactions and debt issuance processes
- →Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- →Proficiency with financial systems and general ledger platforms.
- →Strong project management and issue resolution skills
- →Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

- Support the execution of integration activities across multiple new transaction types under the direction of the SVP, New Transactions Finance Integration.
- Manage finance integration project plans (which integrate with and support broader business integration plans), deliverables, and timelines to ensure milestones are met within cost and time budgets.
- Coordinate with finance, accounting, operations, and technology teams to deliver integrated solutions for new business initiatives. Develop and implement an integration “playbook” that serves to create a standard process to integrate new transactions into our financial systems and processes.
- Identify and escalate blockers, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership for timely resolution.
- Provide regular progress reporting, status updates, and documentation of integration activities.
- Maintain and update the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program for new transactions in partnership with Accounting Policy, Financial Controls and Audit.
- Support external and internal audit processes, ensuring control designs and testing documentation are complete and compliant.
- Assist with control buildouts for new entities, reinsurance transactions, complex investments and any new accounting considerations.
- Partner with Accounting Policy, Controllers, Financial Reporting and Finance Transformation teams to document and test General Ledger (GL) changes across all accounting bases (e.g., US GAAP, US STAT, , Management (non-GAAP), Bermuda SFS/EBS).
- In collaboration with Accounting Policy, develop illustrative journal entries including cost/revenue elements, and profit center coding to seamlessly implement new transactions into our GL.
- Support the design and implementation of accurate reporting and disclosure requirements for new transactions or legal entities.
- Reconcile new transaction data within financial statements, actuarial valuation models, reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
- Facilitate the operation of the Structured Transaction Working Group to support the CIO in evaluating new, complex investment transactions.
- Partner with the investment accounting, investment operations and Clearwater teams to onboard new portfolios and mirror/cession investment structures.
- Coordinate data and control requirements for new investment assets or reinsurance-related entities.
- Support accounting setup, valuation processes, and reporting for capital market and securitization transactions.
- Leverage AI in integration
- Partner with the reinsurance accounting, actuarial and IT teams to onboard new reinsurance transactions
- Coordinate data and control requirements for new reinsurance transactions or reinsurance-related entities.
- Leverage AI in integration
- Develop and maintain business requirement documents (BRDs) and process maps supporting finance integration and control design.
- Ensure consistency with company accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed methodology memorandum bridging accounting policy memos, business requirements and financial control documentation for new transactions.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align integration workstreams with the standard process framework being developed under the SVP’s leadership.
- Provide input for corporate development, pricing, legal and reinsurance operations teams to consider in drafting key transaction terms and new processes to enable more efficient and accurate integration of new transactions.
- Participate in lessons-learned reviews to enhance future integration processes and controls.
