Finance Compliance Intern (SOX)

Job Title: Finance Compliance Intern (SOX) Reporting Line: Technical Accounting & Compliance Manager APAC Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated student or recent graduate with foundational knowledge in accounting and auditing to join our Finance Compliance team. This internship focuses on supporting SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and internal control testing, offering excellent exposure to US public company compliance requirements and audit practices. Key Responsibilities * Assist in SOX control testing for assigned accounts, including sample selection and review of supporting documentation * Examine supporting evidence for selected samples (e.g., reconciliations, journal entries, and other key control documents) to assess completeness and compliance * Perform basic validation procedures under guidance, such as tie-out, recalculation, and consistency checks * Document testing results clearly and maintain organized working papers * Track testing progress and follow up on missing or incomplete documentation with relevant stakeholders * Support the preparation and organization of audit documentation for internal and external reviews * Assist with other ad hoc tasks related to SOX compliance and internal control testing as needed Qualifications * Current undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field * Basic understanding of internal controls, risk compliance, or audit work; relevant internship experience is a plus * Strong attention to detail and excellent document organization and verification skills * Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese; ability to read and organize English supporting documents * Proficiency in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, data filtering) and Word * Available to work at least 3 days per week, with a minimum internship duration of 3 months What We Offer * Exposure to core SOX compliance processes for US-listed companies * Hands-on experience in real-world internal control testing and audit-related projects * Mentorship from experienced compliance professionals; recommendation letter for outstanding performers Fortive Corporation Overview Fortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive.
