Platform Engineer

Role Overview 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer to join our growing Cloud Engineering and Platforms practice. This is a handson role focused on designing, building, and automating secure, scalable cloud platforms—primarily on Microsoft Azure—while contributing to the development of internal frameworks, reusable components, and delivery standards. 

You’ll work closely with Technical Architects, Cloud Engineers, and Consultants to deliver highquality, commercially aligned solutions, playing a key role across the full lifecycle from presales and discovery through to delivery and operational handover. 

This role suits an engineer with strong platform engineering and DevOps expertise, who enjoys defining “what good looks like” through modern automation, IaC, CI/CD, and securebydesign practices. 

Due to the nature of this role successful candidates may need to undergo security clearance. To be eligible for this role you must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years. More information on SC Clearance checks can be found here.

 

Responsibilities 

• Platform Engineering, DevOps & Cloud Native 
• • Design and build secure, scalable cloud platforms using IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM), reusable modules, and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD and cloudnative automation to enable consistent, highquality delivery. 

• • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across platform services, DevOps tooling, and deployment pipelines. 
• Security & DevSecOps 
  • Embed securebydesign principles across identity, networking, secrets, encryption, zerotrust architectures, and policyascode. 

• • Implement automated security controls and pipeline scanning aligned to organisational and regulatory standards. 
• Collaboration, Delivery & Documentation 
  • Collaborate with architects and consultants to translate customer requirements into robust, wellengineered solutions. 

• • Produce clear, highquality technical documentation and support delivery from discovery through to operational handover. 

 

About you 

• Strong hands on engineering capability with a passion for automation, cloud platforms and DevOps excellence
  

• Confident engineering solutions on Microsoft Azure.  

• Proficient with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and modern DevOps tooling.  

• Experienced in configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.  

• Familiar with Agile ALM tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.  

• Understanding of Secure by Design principles across cloud infrastructure, identity, and networking.  

• Able to articulate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to colleagues and clients. 
  

Knowledge and experience of the following would be advantageous:  

• Relevant Azure certification (AZ400 or AZ305) and exposure to AWS or GCP environments.  

• Clientfacing consultancy experience, with contributions to internal platform frameworks, reusable services, or automation testing (e.g. Selenium).  

• Development experience in .NET and/or Python.
