We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help evolve our investment screening and fraud prevention platform. You'll work at the intersection of compliance, risk, and automation, building systems that make accurate, reliable screening decisions at scale, informed by years of operational knowledge and real-world screening outcomes. This is not a role with perfectly defined inputs and outputs: success requires strong judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to turn nuanced operational and compliance requirements into effective software. You will collaborate closely with partners across Operations, Legal, Product, and Finance to understand requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver solutions that strengthen both user experience and risk controls. This is a high-impact role where your work directly protects millions of users and shapes how we scale trust across the platform.

You’re motivated by solving real problems, not by chasing the newest framework or forcing a particular architecture. You make pragmatic technology choices that fit the problem and the business needs. You bring strong judgment and clear opinions, but you’re open to other ideas and are willing to be convinced your idea may not be the right one. You advocate for the best path with conviction, but once a direction is set, you align with the team and help make it successful, even when it wasn’t your first choice. You see evolving and refactoring an established, high-stakes codebase as a meaningful engineering challenge. You don't need a greenfield to do great work. You see close partnership with Legal, Finance, and Operations as an essential part of the engineering work, not a distraction from it. You’d rather ship a practical solution that works than over-engineer one that looks impressive on a whiteboard. Candidates motivated primarily by novelty in tools or architecture, rather than by delivering reliable systems that meet business needs, are unlikely to be a fit.
