Client Project Manager
Quick Summary
Client Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced and client-oriented Client Project Manager to lead and execute onboarding and implementation projects for institutional clients adopting our next-generation fund-distribution market infrastructure, built on blockchain, cloud-native, and microservice technologies.
This role is responsible for owning the end-to-end project lifecycle—from planning to delivery—ensuring that clients are onboarded efficiently, data is correctly migrated, integrations are successfully implemented, and new client-driven projects are delivered on time and with high quality. The Client Project Manager acts as the central coordinator between the client and internal teams (Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, Client Service), ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline, excellent client communication, and a solid understanding of technology and financial workflows.
Your responsibilities include
Client Onboarding Project Management
- Lead, plan, and deliver full onboarding projects for institutional clients from kickoff to go-live.
- Define the scope, milestones, tasks, timelines, and resource needs for each onboarding program.
- Coordinate with Product Owners, DBAs, DevOps, and Engineers to support data migration, system setup, and integration activities.
- Ensure that configuration, validation, and UAT cycles are completed successfully.
- Oversee client operational readiness, including user training, documentation handover, and go-live support.
Client Project Delivery (New Features / Expansions)
- Manage new projects for existing clients (new modules, integrations, enhancements, regulatory updates).
- Gather client requirements and translate them into structured project plans.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure client needs are incorporated into product backlog and roadmap decisions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure delivery is aligned with client expectations and product constraints.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for client project stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project meetings, status reviews, and planning sessions with clients and internal teams.
- Manage expectations proactively, ensuring transparency on timelines, risks, and dependencies.
- Coordinate escalation paths and decision-making processes when issues arise.
Risk, Issue & Quality Management
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and potential obstacles.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards before client handover.
- Facilitate root-cause analysis and corrective actions for any project incidents.
- Maintain strong alignment with regulatory, security, and data-protection standards.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain clear project documentation: charters, plans, RAID logs, status reports, onboarding checklists.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of onboarding frameworks, templates, and client engagement playbooks.
- Support the evolution of best practices for implementation and client-facing project governance.
Collaboration Across Teams
- Work closely with Client Service to ensure a smooth transition from onboarding to BAU support.
- Coordinate with QA and Release Management to secure test windows, test data, and deployment planning.
- Support Sales and Pre-Sales teams by contributing expertise during RFPs, demos, and contract scoping.
Key skills
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple complex client projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation abilities with institutional clients.
- Good understanding of APIs, integrations, cloud-native platforms, and data migration workflows.
- Strong knowledge of financial services, fund distribution workflows, or market infrastructure (highly preferred).
- Structured, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, QA, data, and client service teams.
- High adaptability and comfort operating in fast-paced, rapidly evolving fintech environments.
Required experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in project management, ideally in client-facing or implementation roles.
- Prior experience onboarding institutional clients in fintech, market infrastructure, payments, custody, or asset management is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience managing technical projects involving system integration, data migration, APIs, or cloud platforms.
- Experience with Agile delivery environments and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Proven track record of managing complex client expectations and delivering high-quality outcomes.
