Senior Electrical Engineer

We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Life Sciences team in Lenexa, KS or Broomfield, CO. In this role, you’ll lead electrical design efforts for cutting-edge pharmaceutical and biotech facilities — projects that directly impact how life-saving therapies are developed and manufactured.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll:

• →Develop detailed electrical construction drawings and specifications for cleanroom facilities, manufacturing suites, and laboratory environments.
• →Design electrical power distribution systems for critical manufacturing equipment and regulated environments.
• →Engineer lighting and emergency egress systems for pharmaceutical and biotech facilities.
• →Perform load calculations, power system analyses, and coordinate arc flash/short circuit studies.
• →Create electrical utility matrices and coordinate designs with process, mechanical, and automation disciplines.
• →Prepare design narratives and basis-of-design documents for client review.
• →Ensure designs meet FDA, EU, and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
• →Conduct facility evaluations, troubleshooting, and system assessments.
• →Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering teams.
• →Develop equipment specifications, review submittals, and collaborate with vendors and contractors.
• →Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• →Stay current with electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• →Lead or support project management activities including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
• →Support proposal development and participate in client presentations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences facilities.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical analysis tools (e.g., SKM PowerTools, ETAP).
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, and NFPA 99 codes.
• Experience with UPS and emergency power systems.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and design accuracy.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to travel 10–15% for client meetings and site visits.

$175,000 – $190,000
