Research Scientist, Lipid Chemistry

GenScript has a customized RNA synthesis and delivery formulation service established with good growth opportunity. We are looking for a highly motivated and scientifically rigorous individual to join our Innovation Center for novel lipid or other polymer molecules development to be used in RNA and gene delivery formulation, with experience in developing organic lipid and polymer molecules from R&D to Scale up.

• →Everyday hand-on chemist willing to get into laboratory to conduct novel organic and lipid polymer chemical synthesis to support and build the company’s proprietary lipid-based drug delivery platform.
• →Develop scalable synthetic processes that could eventually lead to commercial use in LNP and targeted LNP formulation.
• →Characterize, problem solve and interpret analytical data obtained from instrumentation such as HPLC, LC-MS, NMR etc.
• →Maintain Chemistry laboratory and inventories in accordance with good laboratory procedures.
• →Communicate regularly with supervisor and pees on research findings and propose suggestions for next steps.
• →Maintain a current knowledge of latest technology and scientific trends.
• →Perform other duties as needed.

• A minimum of a Ph.D. in organic, polymer or lipid chemistry from an accredited University.
• A minimum of 1 year of post-doctoral experience in academia or industry. Experience in a GMP environment is a plus.
• Must have proven track record of scientific accomplishments either in the form of publications or patents.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A sense of humility and an eagerness to continue to learn and contribute to a supportive team
