Want to drive the energy transition from the front lines? GE Vernova is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead mission-critical substation projects from the front lines. You will own the full project lifecycle from site mobilization and civil construction to final commissioning with high autonomy and direct impact on our project delivery. This role requires nearly 100% travel to customer sites; it is a dedicated field-based position perfect for a seasoned professional who prefers site leadership over a desk.

Responsibilities

Technical site execution role responsible for supporting the Site Manager in the execution of hands-on substation erection, electrical installation, testing, commissioning support, and related site activities during the ITO and/or OTR phase, acting under the direction of the Site Manager and project leadership. May lead site activities or smaller projects with virtual supervision from the Site Manager. Ensures schedule, quality, and cost are in compliance with contractual obligations, company policy and local regulations.

Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Knowledge of electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and substation construction practices.
Familiarity with applicable electrical safety standards and field execution requirements.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $100,000.00 and $166,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
