Senior Primary Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Primary Substation Design Engineer to join our Energy group. This role leads the delivery of high-quality projects for internal, existing, and new clients, while building commercial awareness and taking responsibility for coaching and technical development within the team.

• →Define the scope of substation projects with a focus on the Primary HV/EHV substation component, bus configurations, design technical solutions, and lead project / design teams to deliver those solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
• →Manage design stakeholders to further best-for-project outcomes. 
• →Lead technical delivery teams.
• →Work in close collaboration with colleagues across service lines.
• →Undertake peer reviews of designs completed by others within the discipline.
• →Act as Project Manager for medium-sized projects, responsible for project documentation (scope of work etc.) and managing client interactions.
• →Plan, lead and coordinate resources and ensure project technical & commercial outcomes and client expectations are met.
• →Lead the development and submission of proposals for routine projects.
• →Communicate with clients about current work and future needs, provide timely updates on project progress.
• →Supervise, support and train less experienced members of the team. Formally mentoring young professionals.
• →Developing the team, contributing to keeping team knowledge up to date with technical, regulatory and industry trends.

• →Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• →At least 8 years relevant work experience. Australian project experience is a plus. 
• →Applies a depth of experience within a job area or broad knowledge of several job areas, demonstrated in a relevant industry or consulting business.
• →Extensive knowledge of applicable standards, and familiarity with industry best practice.
• →A track record for delivering exceptional client experience, and an eye for business development opportunities.
• →Relevant on-site credentials.
• →Sound knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, ETAP etc.
