We build data centers fast and at scale by combining the capabilities of an equipment supplier, engineering firm, general contractor, and real estate developer under one roof. Our team moves quickly and thinks practically. If you're ready to make an impact in an industry that matters, we're looking for people like you.
What We Offer
~1 min readResponsibilities
~2 min readWe are seeking a Lead Mechanical Product Engineer to own the mechanical design and performance of our Mechanical product offerings. This person will be the US based lead creating the bridge between the Engineer team and our Product Team in China to help guide products from requirements and design through manufacturing, testing, and field improvement. They will also provide technical support for both our in-house engineering team and prospective customers looking to purchase our products, helping them select and integrate the right solution for their facility.
The role combines hands-on engineering, product ownership, and customer-facing applications support. It requires strong judgment across refrigeration, liquid cooling, airflow, and the mechanical integration of data center equipment.
- →Own mechanical requirements, design decisions, specifications, drawings, bills of materials, and engineering changes for all Mechanical equipment and components.
- →Develop and validate cooling capacity, heat transfer, airflow, fluid flow, pressure drop, piping, and equipment selection calculations.
- →Lead mechanical integration of chillers, cooling distribution units, fan wall units, piping, and pod infrastructure. Coordinate interfaces with electrical, controls, monitoring, and fire protection teams.
- →Review designs for performance, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, and applicable code and certification requirements.
- →Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners on component selection, technical issues, design reviews, and production readiness.
- →Define, and review product testing, factory acceptance criteria, and corrective actions. Use field and customer feedback to improve the products.
- →Meet with prospective customers to understand cooling loads, site conditions, operating requirements, and integration constraints.
- →Recommend product configurations and help prepare technical proposals, specifications, submittals, responses to customer questions, and engineering input for bids.
We are an in-office culture — velocity matters when you're building physical infrastructure, and the best decisions happen in the room. This role is ideally based in our San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston offices, with full-time onsite expectations outside of bi-weekly WFH Fridays.
That said, we will make exceptions for truly exceptional talent if you live outside one of our hubs. If you're the right person for this role, we'll have a conversation about what works.
