We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mid-Level Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals for construction projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and senior estimators, the Mid-Level Estimator will play a key role in evaluating project requirements, analyzing construction drawings, and developing competitive pricing strategies. This role is ideal for a professional with estimating experience who is proficient in industry-standard takeoff and estimating software and possesses strong technical and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and other tender documents to develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
- →Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
- →Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs to prepare competitive bid submissions.
- →Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain pricing and clarify project requirements.
- →Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential risks within project documentation and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- →Assist in the preparation, review, and submission of tender packages and bid proposals.
- →Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, pricing databases, and supporting documentation.
- →Participate in value engineering initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and compliance requirements.
- →Monitor market trends, material pricing, labor costs, and industry developments to improve estimating accuracy.
- →Support project handovers by providing detailed estimate breakdowns and assumptions to operations teams.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient in takeoff and estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards is highly desirable.
- Experience working on commercial, residential, civil, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
