Raytheon is seeking an established Mechanical Engineer to fill an On-Site position in our Plano, TX location. This position resides in the Hardware Mechanical Engineering Airborne Sensor RF Design Department. We are looking for self-starting candidates to perform mechanical design and documentation of electro-mechanical assemblies, coordinate with and visit suppliers throughout the US, and support our manufacturing facility in Forest, MS. The candidate is expected to follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure the overall design goals are met.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Experience with PTC Creo Parametric CAD software or other CAD tools.
- →Working knowledge of GD&T principles and their application for design documentation and fabrication.
- →Work within a multi‑disciplined engineering team responsible for:
- →Housing design
- →Equipment packaging
- →Liquid cooling systems
- →Interconnect layouts
- →Operate under the guidance of a Lead Engineer, with latitude to present technical solutions for assigned tasks.
- →Frequent interaction with IPTL, Program Management, Supply Chain, and external partners.
- →Company travel up to 35% required.

- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or a minimum of 2 years’ prior relevant experience, to include any combination of the following: related discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience to include experience with PTC CREO Parametric, SolidWorks or other CAD design tools.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required after the start date.
- Knowledge and understanding of materials and fabrication methods.
- Fundamental understanding of statistical concepts and their application to development and production processes.
- Understanding of mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Ability to provide production support, including use of basic measurement tools.
- Ability to draft communications, create, and deliver presentations.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience supporting the design and integration of mechanical products and assemblies.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Mechanical CAD design and electronic design.
- Ability to travel between North Texas sites, Forest, MS, and for supplier visits.
