The Reliability Engineer, Maintenance CoE will apply reliability engineering principles and maintenance best practices to identify equipment performance opportunities, reduce recurring failures, and help develop effective preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies.
- Support the development and improvement of equipment maintenance and reliability strategies across manufacturing sites; analyze equipment performance and maintenance data to identify bad actors, recurring failures and reliability improvement opportunities.
- Use metrics such as maintenance downtime, MTBF, MTTR, repeat failures, PM performance and maintenance history to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities; ;perform and facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) for significant and recurring equipment failures and help sites develop effective corrective actions.
- Apply FMEA, equipment criticality and reliability-centered maintenance principles to evaluate equipment risks and maintenance requirements; review existing preventive maintenance programs and help identify opportunities to improve task content, frequencies and effectiveness; help identify opportunities to transition appropriate equipment from time-based preventive maintenance toward condition-based and predictive maintenance.
- Work with site maintenance organizations to improve the connection between equipment failure modes and maintenance tasks; provide support for maintenance planning, scheduling, backlog management, work-order quality, job plans and failure coding; use SAP or other CMMS/EAM systems to evaluate equipment history, maintenance activities and failure information.
- Work with the MCoE team to improve the quality and use of maintenance and reliability data; support deployment of common maintenance and reliability standards across manufacturing sites; participate in site maintenance assessments and help identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Support predictive maintenance and asset-health initiatives, including vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasound, oil analysis and other condition-monitoring technologies; work with site teams and technical specialists to determine where condition monitoring can improve equipment reliability or reduce unnecessary preventive maintenance.
- Partner with site OEE and Industrial Engineering teams to understand equipment-related availability losses and translate those losses into maintenance and reliability improvement opportunities.
- Support Central Equipment/Capital Projects by providing maintenance and reliability input for new and modified equipment; participate in equipment design and maintainability reviews, helping ensure appropriate consideration of access, serviceability, PM/PdM requirements, spare parts, documentation and maintenance data.
- Work directly with OEM technical and service organizations to support troubleshooting, equipment repair, failure analysis and reliability improvement.
- Help evaluate the technical performance of OEM and third-party maintenance providers; document lessons learned from equipment failures and reliability improvements so successful practices can be shared across sites; collaborate with experienced engineers, equipment SMEs and technical
