Senior Platform Engineer

• The design, development and maintenance of all backend services as well as our Backend for Frontend abstraction layer
• Connecting and maintaining any 3rd party services that are essential to our business
• Act as a resource for other engineers, as well as product managers regarding all things backend
• Collaborating with frontend engineers on how to best serve and visualize data
• Writing and distributing clear documentation regarding architectural choices and processes
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technology in backend development, with a focus on scalability,  and apply this knowledge to tackle complex problems in innovative ways.
• Facilitate effective communication between the development team and other departments.

• You have a Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
• You have 5+ years of development experience with a focus on performance, scalability and observability.
• You have 3 to 5 years of experience writing code in Python
• You have experience with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask and Django
• Previous experience with data engineering is a big plus
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels within the organization
• Python, FastAPI & SQLAlchemy experience (bonus, but not required).
• Familiarity with Dart & Flutter (our mobile app tech stack).
• Contributions to open source or public tech talks/blog posts.
• Prior mentorship or interview experience.
