Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related quantitative discipline.

Experience:
3–5+ years of hands-on engineering experience supporting infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, or enterprise migration initiatives in collaborative team-based environments.

Cloud Experience:
Hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and monitoring services.

Programming & Automation:
Professional proficiency in Python, Java, Bash, PowerShell, or similar programming/scripting languages. Ability to develop automation tools and scripts to improve migration efficiency and repeatability.

Operating Systems:
Strong Unix/Linux fundamentals with the ability to troubleshoot application, deployment, infrastructure, environment, networking, and runtime issues.

Containers & Modern Platforms:
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based deployments, including troubleshooting, scaling, configuration management, and operational support.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Experience with automation and provisioning tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep templates, Ansible, or equivalent technologies.

Methodology:
Strong understanding of SDLC practices, Agile methodologies, CI/CD delivery models, change management processes, release management, and production deployment procedures.

Networking Fundamentals:
Understanding of enterprise networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, private connectivity, and hybrid cloud architectures.

▪ Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator/Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.

▪ Experience supporting large-scale enterprise cloud migrations involving hundreds or thousands of servers/applications.

▪ Experience with migration tools such as AWS Application Migration Service (MGN), Azure Migrate, Google Cloud Migrate, VMware HCX, CloudEndure, or equivalent.

▪ Experience with VMware, virtualization platforms, and hybrid cloud environments.

▪ Experience working with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

▪ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

▪ Analyze CPU, memory, storage utilization, dependencies, integrations, runtime patterns, licensing considerations, and application architecture.

▪ Identify migration risks, technical constraints, dependencies, and remediation requirements.

▪ Analyze workloads based on functionality, business criticality, resiliency requirements, compliance needs, and interruption tolerance.

▪ Define appropriate cloud placement strategies including rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, retain, or replace approaches.

▪ Design and provision cloud infrastructure capacity required to support migration activities, testing environments, and production workloads.

▪ Configure cloud resources including compute, storage, networking, identity, security controls, monitoring, and operational tooling.

▪ Validate cloud environments against architecture standards, security requirements, and operational readiness criteria.

▪ Implement infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code practices.

▪ Execute migration waves following approved migration plans, runbooks, and change management procedures.

▪ Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production parallel testing, and technical validation activities.

▪ Compare pre-migration and post-migration results, capture evidence, troubleshoot discrepancies, and drive issues through resolution.

▪ Support production cutovers, release activities, rollback procedures, and post-release validation.

▪ Perform post-migration health checks to ensure workload stability, performance, scalability, and operational readiness.

▪ Perform workload tuning and optimization to ensure migrated applications are stable, scalable, reliable, and cost efficient.

▪ Analyze performance metrics, resource utilization, logs, and operational data to identify optimization opportunities.

▪ Support monitoring, alerting, backup, disaster recovery, patching, and operational support requirements.

▪ Assist with cloud cost optimization through resource right-sizing and utilization analysis.

▪ Partner with application engineering, infrastructure, security, database, and platform teams to define migration plans and execution strategies.

▪ Collaborate with business stakeholders to establish validation criteria, acceptance requirements, and migration timelines.

▪ Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, and solution design activities.

▪ Communicate technical risks, dependencies, progress, and migration status effectively.

▪ Design, enhance, and implement automation frameworks to enable repeatable, scalable, and efficient cloud migrations.

▪ Develop AI-assisted solutions and automation capabilities to improve migration discovery, analysis, execution, and documentation processes.

▪ Create reusable scripts, templates, tools, and frameworks supporting migration factory operations.

▪ Document migration procedures, technical standards, operational learnings, risks, and best practices.

▪ Continuously improve migration methodologies, processes, and delivery models.
