Maintenance Engineer

At The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, we are seeking a qualified Maintenance Engineer to support the effective operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of our production assets. Inserted within the Plant & Supply Chain Department and reporting directly to our Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to achieving business objectives by ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimising downtime, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

• →Ensure prompt and effective response to equipment breakdowns to minimise operational disruption
• →Monitor and analyse equipment performance, implementing preventive and corrective maintenance strategies
• →Support the planning and execution of preventive maintenance programs
• →Supervise maintenance teams, including technicians and external contractors
• →Contribute to annual maintenance planning, including overhauls and budget preparation
• →Ensure all maintenance activities meet required standards and deliver expected outcomes
• →Track and analyse KPIs to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• →Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and maintenance records
• →Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
• →Support plant improvement projects and cross-functional initiatives

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
• Engineering Warrant (or in progress)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience in team supervision is considered an asset

• Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
• Analytical mindset with structured problem-solving approach
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence

General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd is responsible for manufacturing a wide range of soft drinks across Malta. We do this for brands owned by The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) including Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Fanta, Dr Pepper, Sprite, Schweppes, and Kristal. We are an independent Coca-Cola bottler and are the sole licensed bottler for products of TCCC in Malta. We employ over 300 people in Malta and Gozo at our manufacturing site, offices, and distribution centres. Through our sister company, GSD Marketing Ltd we sell and distribute TCCC products manufactured in Malta as well as import, sell and distribute other TCCC products including Cappy Juices and Powerade. We also import, sell and distribute other brands including Monster, Bavaria, Stella Artois, Lowenbrau and Café Mauro on behalf of other brand owners.
