ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in monitoring the overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Help to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local ordinances affecting this position.
- Help to ensure compliance with all Company policies and programs.
- Assist in the daily, weekly, and monthly repairs and maintenance of all Plant Operations. This includes but is not limited to the following: unloading system, mill maintenance, mill equipment, bagging equipment, bulk loading equipment, and sparging facility.
- Assist in the daily, weekly, and monthly repairs and maintenance of all production vehicles. This includes but is not limited to the following: forklift, skid steers, bulk trailers, yard truck, and sweepers.
- Work with the mill operator to run all bulk loading and in the operation of all hot melt and sparging procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of all hot melt and sparging equipment.
- Properly store and secure all tech material. This includes locking the tech storage area when not in use.
- Clean all spills of tech material and fertilizer spills related to running the sparging equipment, including but not limited to, the mixer, hot bath tanks, scales, warming tank, and all sparging spray lines and pumps.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- AA Degree preferred.
- Three years of maintenance mechanic experience required.
- Must have experience in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical maintenance.
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Working knowledge of production and plant operations.
- Self-motivated and can work independently.
- Manage multiple tasks, priorities, and changing situations.
- Familiar with fertilizer construction and application.
- Mobility of arms – Must be able to reach and use arms to manipulate small objects.
- Mobility inside the plant, stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Work is routinely performed in a general production environment on a concrete surface, with frequent exposure to both the internal and external environment.
- Frequent exposure to severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.
- Frequent exposure to dust, and noise levels that exceed a normal threshold.
- Must wear steel-toed boots.
- Recommended (area specific): Safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, back brace, and safety suit. Will be provided by Harrell’s upon request.
- Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in accordance with SDS recommendations.
