About the Role
~1 min readAt HANDS, our Behavior Technicians (BT’s) are professionals who have completed a minimum of a 40-hour intensive training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). All BT’s are continually supervised by an agency BCBA on a weekly basis and engage in behavior analytic professional development activities. BT’s are responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the BCBA. The BT may also collect data and conduct certain types of assessments (e.g., stimulus preference assessments) under the supervision of a BCBA.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide one-on-one behavioral interventions to clients in both home and center-based settings
- →Run skill acquisition programs with clients based on the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis
- →Complete daily program writing and data collection before the end of each shift
- →Work with Board Certified Behavior Analysts to implement individualized treatment plans
- →Collect and accurately record data on clients’ progress
- →Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients during treatment sessions
Requirements
~1 min read- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, special education, or related field preferred
- A minimum of one (1) years experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with special needs
- Strong preference for candidates who already possess the RBT certification
- Must be caring, energetic, and detail-oriented
- Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift/carry up to a maximum of 50 lbs and remain standing for up to 4 hours
- Must be able to remain within close proximity to children at all times for safety
- Ability to get up and down from the floor independently
- Successful completion of criminal history background check and drug testing
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals in different settings
