HART is collecting applications for a Storekeeper to receive, store and issue the parts, supplies, tools and equipment used in transit and automotive maintenance. In this role, you will maintain accurate inventory records, help keep adequate stock on hand and protect agency property through careful storage and access controls.
- Support public transportation by helping maintenance teams get the materials and equipment they need.
- Put your storekeeping experience to work in a role combining inventory records, material handling and storage organization.
- Contribute to a safe, orderly workplace where accurate records and responsible use of supplies matter.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Receive, store and issue supplies, parts, materials, tools and equipment used in transit and automotive maintenance.
- →Maintain inventory records of parts on hand and ensure adequate stock is maintained.
- →Keep storage areas safe, clean and organized through established safety and housekeeping procedures.
- →Protect agency property by ensuring materials are used only for official HART purposes and storage areas are accessible only to authorized personnel. Report potential violations to your supervisor or higher-level management.
- →Check storage areas for overflow, mixed stock, incorrect or incomplete bin placement and incorrect tags; make corrections as issues arise.
- →Maintain accurate records, logs and ledgers related to storekeeping activities.
- →Handle the storage of hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA requirements.
- →Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Accurate inventory. Records reflect the parts and supplies on hand, and adequate stock is maintained.
- Organized storage. Materials are properly placed and tagged, and storage issues are corrected promptly.
- Responsible property control. Access is limited to authorized personnel, materials are used for agency purposes and concerns are reported.
- Dependable teamwork. You communicate clearly, meet deadlines and follow safe work practices.
- A high school diploma or GED certificate.
- One year of storekeeping experience.
- A valid Florida Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire or moving to Florida.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work positively with people inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work effectively under stress and frequent interruptions.
- Attention to detail, the ability to accurately remember and retain information, and analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality, flexibility and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Equipment used in this role includes forklifts, hand trucks, handheld scanners, computers, calculators, copiers, printers, telephone switchboards, typewriters, fax machines, TDD machines, data card systems, laminators and cameras.
- Perform office work and the receiving, storage and issuing activities described above.
- Hear, see, speak and perceive color, depth and texture as needed for assigned duties.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach and stoop, and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- May interact with potentially intimidating or unreceptive members of the public.
- May occasionally encounter dangerous machinery, extreme weather, extreme noise and risks of physical harm.
