  1. Manage the full recruitment cycle for assigned categories of positions keeping in constant and proactive communication with hiring managers and upper levels management, when necessary.
  2. Screen applicants in the applicant tracking system and submit to hiring managers for review.
  3. Phone screen and interview candidates to provide feedback to the hiring managers.
  4. Research and make suggestions to management regarding candidates, recruitment opportunities and improvements.
  5. Make offers to candidates once the selection process is complete.
  6. Represent the organization at recruitment events and research and offer suggestions for other events.
  7. Work closely with Staffing Agencies and Headhunters to provide temporary and on-demand help on an as needed basis.
  8. Serve as applicants’ point-of-contact when moving through the recruitment and onboarding process.
  9. Coordinate communications with new hires and hiring managers regarding important meetings, dates, start times/dates, etc.
  10. Ensure recruitment information and documentation is updated and on file for future references.
  11. Handle scheduling of pre-employment drug/physical appointments.
  12. Submit and review background investigations including criminal and DMV checks.
  13. Rescind offers for candidates that do not successfully pass the pre-employment screening process.
  14. Ensure recruitment databases are up to date, including SharePoint, hiring website, and Hawthorne’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  15. Participate in the review and selection of platforms used for recruitment purposes.
  16. Oversee job advertising with outside sources and work with Marketing Department to ensure all forms of media are utilized to promote recruitment efforts.
  17. Update Director of Human Resources on overall recruitment needs and opportunities.
  18. Ensure new hire packets are current and up to date, making suggestions for changes when needed.
  19. Cross train and support other HR team members, including but not limited to Data Entry, Benefits, and Filings.
  20. Assist with the development of future applicants by providing support for outreach and talent development programs with youth organizations, high schools, and trade and apprenticeship programs i.e. Hawthorne Technician Apprenticeship Program (HTAP)
  21. Coordinate and participate in the operation of company sponsored recruitment and development programs.
  22. Provide in-person, on-site assistance and availability for San Diego employees and managers.
  23. Complete other duties and projects as needed.

 

  1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must have a current valid Drivers License with a good driving record.
  3. Must have 3-5 years Human Resources experience with a focus on recruitment.
  4. HRCI and/or SHRM Certification preferred.
  5. PC skills required: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Sage HRMS and iCIMS (preferred)
  1. Walking: Moves about on foot, often up and down stairs.
  2. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
  3. Lifting: May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
  5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
  6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
  7. Vision: Reads paperwork, employment files, and records on the computer.
  8. Talking: Professionally communicates by phone and in person.
  9. Sitting: Sits in equipment and vehicles for extended periods.
  1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
  2. Temp/Weather: Works in an office environment.
