About the Role
~1 min readJoin us as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor and launch your career in contracting and commercial management. Our Program is 2 years and from day one, you’ll be working on live projects, gaining practical experience, and developing your skills with the full support of our expert team. We are looking for an Graduate Quantity Surveyor to work in our Road Surfacing Division. We are the 3rd largest asphalt laying contractor in the UK and build a wide range of roads from our Strategic Road Network (Motorways and A Roads) to Local Council roads.
- Oversee measurement, valuation, payment, and reporting for allocated contracts.
- Ensure timely application and collection of revenue in accordance with contract terms.
- Monitor customer payments, including maintenance periods and staged payments.
- Assist the Commercial department with pre-contract and tender activities.
- Negotiate and agree terms and conditions for contracts and sub-contracts, liaising with legal advisors as needed.
- Participate in the procurement process and engagement of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Define responsibilities and establish terms and conditions for subcontractor agreements.
- Prepare and agree subcontractor payment certificates.
- Establish financial control systems for contract execution.
- Manage revenue, cost, cash collection, and reporting throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Produce financial and commercial reports and forecasts for the Managing QS and other stakeholders.
- Report any unsafe practices observed during site visits.
After completing the programme the career pathway leads to Quantity Surveyor role where you’ll take ownership of commercial delivery on key projects. You’ll apply everything you’ve learned to lead cost management, support junior colleagues, and influence project outcomes.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you are responsible, in conjunction with the Operations personnel.
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll lead commercial strategy across multiple projects or regions. You’ll be responsible for team development, financial performance, and ensuring commercial excellence at every stage of delivery.

Requirements
~1 min read- You must have graduated in 2026 be graduating in 2027 and expected to achieve a 2:1 in Quantity Surveying
- British citizenship or UK settled status.
