To unload, cut, layout, and fabricate raw materials into weldments & frames for the purpose of assisting in the assembly of automated systems as specified in the print package.

 

Requirements

· Follow all safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.

· Demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

· Successfully pass a 2G MIG T-joint fillet weld certification test.

· Perform Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick) operations to produce quality products that meet production standards and specifications.

· Operate a band saw to accurately cut raw materials for welding and machining operations.

· Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

· Accurately document daily work activities and labor hours in the designated timekeeping system.

· Conduct required quality inspections using basic measuring instruments to verify parts meet engineering drawings and specifications.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in accordance with company safety standards.

· Apply safe work practices when operating machinery, tools, and equipment.

· Support department objectives by performing additional duties and assignments as directed by the Supervisor.

 

· High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution required.

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience in metal fabrication and welding operations.

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member in a production environment.

· Ability to follow established operating procedures, identify issues, evaluate root causes, and recommend effective solutions.

· Proficient in reading and interpreting tape measures, blueprints, engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.

· Ability to use precision measuring instruments and inspection tools to verify product quality and dimensional accuracy.

· Capable of meeting established production standards while following work instructions and quality requirements.

· Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated success working in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

· Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

· Flexibility to support other departments, including Assembly, and travel as needed for equipment or machine installation projects.

· Basic knowledge of rigging principles, lifting devices, and safe material handling practices.

· Demonstrated ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools, including grinders, saws, and drill motors.

 

· Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday.

· Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials, components, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier loads with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.

· Ability to perform welding and fabrication tasks in a variety of positions, including standing, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and working overhead.

· Ability to safely work in confined spaces and elevated work areas when required.

· Sufficient manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills to operate welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately.

· Ability to read detailed blueprints, drawings, and measuring devices with close visual attention.

· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, respirators, hearing protection, and protective clothing for extended periods.

· Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, sparks, fumes, dust, noise, and varying environmental conditions commonly found in manufacturing and fabrication environments.

· Ability to maintain concentration and perform precise, quality-driven work throughout the shift while meeting production requirements.

· Ability to safely climb ladders, access platforms, and maneuver around large fabricated assemblies and equipment.

· Ability to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends as needed to support production schedules and customer requirements.

 

· Work is performed in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment with frequent exposure to welding operations, machinery, and material handling activities.

· Regular exposure to welding fumes, smoke, airborne particles, metal dust, sparks, and grinding debris.

· Frequent exposure to elevated noise levels from welding equipment, grinders, saws, cranes, forklifts, and other production machinery. Hearing protection is required.

· Exposure to hot work environments generated by welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication processes.

· Work may involve contact with oils, lubricants, coolants, paints, solvents, and cleaning agents commonly used in manufacturing operations.

· Duties require working around moving mechanical equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other powered industrial vehicles.

· Exposure to varying temperatures and humidity levels depending on facility conditions, seasonal weather, and proximity to shop doors or loading areas.

· Frequent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, welding helmets, gloves, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, flame-resistant clothing, and respiratory protection when required.

· Work may involve handling sharp metal components, plate steel, structural materials, and fabricated assemblies.

· Employees must maintain awareness of surrounding work activities and adhere to established safety procedures in a fast-paced production environment.

· Occasional work outside of the fabrication facility may be required for equipment installation, field service, customer support, or project-related activities.

· The environment requires the ability to safely perform duties while managing multiple priorities and meeting production schedule
