Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our Transformers business as a Field Service Engineer. You'll contribute to the execution of the service strategy and service growth by focusing on delivering timely, high-quality, cost-effective service offerings, solutions, and engineering projects for customers.
Execute Service work in accordance with Hitachi Energy standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You'll be delivering quality customer service to satisfy our prestigious customers. Using your initiative to identify new service opportunities for Hitachi Energy.
- You’ll be playing a key role within a team of knowledgeable and experienced engineers/technicians undertaking and coordinating service activities on site, whilst keeping a close eye on health and safety and quality standards, schedules, and progress reporting to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for Transformer service activities as well on shore as off shore including installation and commissioning, device replacements, routine maintenance, inspections, and identifying problems to assist with providing analysis for recommendations.
- Coordinate all delivered parts, materials, and components for each project and optimise the use of your resources to meet delivery and performance targets as effectively as possible.
- Lead jobs from start to finish under the direction of the project manager, to meet clients’ requirements.
- Maintain project site documentation and checklists, prepare reports, and help to resolve any issues on site. You’ll provide feedback to assist with identifying and recommending effective new solutions to help meet business and/or customer needs.
- Apply all safety rules and follow safe practices, as well as keep environmental responsibilities in mind. But you’ll also assess and highlight hazards and implement actions to ensure the safety of both people and equipment.
- Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, servicing, or commissioning of industrial equipment or machinery; experience with power transformers is considered a strong advantage.
- Previous experience leading operational teams, as well as practical knowledge of the construction, installation, testing, and measurement of power transformers, will be an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with installation, testing, and measurement equipment.
- Good command of English, enabling effective communication in an international working environment.
- Willingness to undertake frequent and extended work delegations (typically 3-8 weeks at a time), both domestically and internationally.
- Strong sense of responsibility for personal and team safety, with a proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to work. Ability to perform effectively in demanding environments and manage priorities under pressure.
- Requires Developing Digital and Data Fluency - good knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint). Practical knowledge of AI tools will be an adventure.
- Valid Category B driving license.
