Manages administrative duties and accreditation activities to ensure quality and consistency of ultrasound scans and supporting documentation.
Manages staff and exercises independent judgment regarding hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, etc.
Trains and validates skill sets of other sonographers as assigned.
Travel as necessary for training between locations.
Explains sonographic procedures to patients, answers questions prepares patients. by applying the gel to the skin, and positions the patients on the table.
Ensures clear images for diagnostic purposes and makes adjustments to the sonographic equipment when necessary.
Selects the appropriate settings and adjust the patients' positions accordingly.
Monitors and cares for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the procedures.
Selects and examines images, looking for differences between healthy and pathological areas, and determining if the scope of the exam should be extended, based on preliminary findings.
Presents the sonograms and preliminary findings to the Physicians.
Completes the appropriate documentation and maintains patients' histories and medical records.
Assists Physicians and the healthcare teams during invasive procedures.
Maintains and cleans the sonographic equipment.
Performs medical procedures, such as administering oxygen, taking vital signs, and giving emergency treatments.
Creates and maintains a patient electronic medical record (EMR)
Maintains quantity and quality control checks to assure the unit meets standards required by laws, rules, and departmental policies.

Other duties as assigned

An associate’s degree in sonography from an accredited school
Current state and ARDMS certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
RVS or RVT credentials required
BLS Certification
