Responsible for managing critical software and hardware suppliers worldwide.   Includes setting category strategies; supply base development to meet the company and customer requirements; supplier contracting and negotiations; supplier qualification; and establishing quality processes / resolving quality issues. Emphasis is on strategy, supplier development, negotiations, business relationships, quality, cost, assurance of supply and predictability. Develops the company procurement strategies, policies and tactics required to achieve objectives. Primary objective is to reduce the cost of supply and meet demand requirements, business and quality specifications, and revenue goals. Adds value to the company through managing performance aspects of major contracts and subcontracts.

  • →Analyzes industry trends and procurement performance to support the software category; reports results of analyses to procurement manager.
  • →Applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues.
  • →Works on problems of moderately complex scope.
  • →Draft, review, and negotiate software agreements and contracts, including NDA’s, SOW’s, and software licenses.
  • →Identifies challenging contract risk areas and advises senior level business leaders.
  • →Collaborates with internal and external partners including legal, marketing, product teams, services, and finance to meet procurement objectives
  • →Manage contract adherence and review for opportunities to renegotiate for improved terms.
  • →Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.
  • →Meets with senior members to learn about business priorities.
  • →Learns to use supply chain and financial modeling tools.
  • →Engages with partners projects.
  • →Performs tasks as assigned and applies experience to align individual work with overall strategy using discretion and judgment.
  • →Reviews performance metrics on a regular basis, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • →Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.

    • Bachelors degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
    • Typically 7+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain function including key topics of IP, rebate structures, MDF, and licensing
    • Significant experience negotiating legal terms contained in complex technology contracts.
