The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining cable and wire harness manufacturing processes to support high-quality, efficient, and compliant production operations. This role serves as a key technical resource for manufacturing activities, ensuring assembly processes are standardized, repeatable, and aligned with industry and customer requirements. The position also supports continuous improvement, new product introductions, and workforce capability development.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Develop and standardize manufacturing processes for cable and wire harness assemblies.
- →Create and maintain work instructions, visual aids, and process controls to support consistent production.
- →Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and error-proofing solutions to improve assembly quality and efficiency.
- →Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and quality specifications.
- →Serve as the primary technical resource for manufacturing issues and process-related concerns.
- →Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address manufacturing defects.
- →Drive initiatives to improve quality, reduce scrap and rework, and enhance production efficiency.
- →Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM), process validation, and production readiness activities for new product introductions.
- →Train and mentor production personnel on assembly processes, workmanship standards, and best practices.
- →Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers to ensure process alignment and operational readiness.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within cable and wire harness, electro-mechanical assembly, or related industries.
- Hands-on experience with cable assembly, crimping, soldering, and related manufacturing processes.
- Experience designing or supporting tooling and fixture development for manual assembly operations.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001 standards is preferred.
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills using structured methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why Analysis, and Fishbone Analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Work Setup: Onsite
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; Midshift
