The Role

The Senior Product Engineer is instrumental in architecting and delivering scalable, maintainable, and high-performance digital solutions for Hyatt’s global platforms. This position demands advanced technical skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to influence technical strategies across multiple teams.

Key responsibilities include mentoring engineering colleagues, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and driving enhancements in engineering practices and system architecture. Senior Engineers ensure Hyatt’s technology solutions remain reliable, secure, and strategically aligned with long-term business objectives.

·       Lead the development of complex features and services throughout the technology stack.

·       Design, implement, and optimize scalable software architectures.

·       Provide mentorship and technical guidance to mid-level engineers through code reviews and best practice adoption.

·       Define and uphold standards in coding, testing, and deployment processes.

·       Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to translate requirements into effective technical implementations.

·       Enhance the observability, reliability, and performance of production systems.

·       Promote the adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and cloud technologies.

·       Serve as a technical lead on designated projects or initiatives.

·       Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, and QA teams to convert business requirements into intuitive digital experiences.

·       Mentor team members in front-end engineering best practices.

·       Drive improvements in application performance, accessibility, reliability, observability, and production support.

Experience Required: 

·       5+ years of experience in front-end software engineering or an equivalent software development role.

·       Strong experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design.

·       Experience integrating REST APIs, microservices, authentication providers, and third-party services.

·       Experience with automated testing tools such as React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.

·       Experience with Git, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, Agile development, and production troubleshooting.

Experience Preferred:  

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.

·       Experience with Hyatt Privé application technologies, including React Query, OAuth/OpenID Connect, JWT, and role-based access control.

·       Experience improving front-end performance for applications dependent on multiple backend or external services.

·       Experience with accessibility standards such as Docker, Kubernetes, and observability tools.

The salary range for this position is $117,000 - $145,000

The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work.  Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
