Job Description: We are seeking experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses (ICU RNs) to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ICU consists of three units with 36 beds, dedicated to surgical, medical, and cardiac patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients, including those requiring isolation or COVID-19 treatment. Perform advanced critical care procedures, including: Arterial line, hemodynamic, and central line monitoring. Mechanical ventilation management and ECG interpretation. Administration of vasoactive medications and thrombolytic therapy. Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Intra-Atrial Balloon Pump (IABP), and post-anesthesia recovery care. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans Administer medications, including IV and blood products Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, ventilator care, and suctioning Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status Provide patient and family education Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records Respond to emergencies and provide clinical oversight to support staff Ensure compliance with PPE, hand hygiene, and BCMA protocols Core Competencies: Patient-centered care Critical thinking and clinical judgment Effective communication and teamwork Adherence to VA ICARE values: Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans. Requirements Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA certified. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA certified. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, proficient in critical care procedures. Schedule: 40-hour work week with flexible 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, including day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
