About ServiceMaster Restore of Victoria

ServiceMaster Restore of Victoria is a locally owned and operated restoration company serving homeowners, businesses, property managers, strata corporations, and insurance partners throughout Greater Victoria.

We specialize in restoring residential and commercial properties following water, fire, mould, and other property losses.

We are currently looking for an experienced Drywaller / Taper to join our growing reconstruction team.

The Position

This position is ideal for an experienced drywaller who takes pride in producing clean, professional work and is comfortable working on a variety of restoration projects.

Unlike new construction, restoration work can range from small drywall patches and ceiling repairs to complete rooms and larger reconstruction projects. The successful candidate must be comfortable adapting to different job sites and matching existing finishes.

Responsibilities

Install and repair drywall in residential and commercial properties
Measure, cut, fit, and hang drywall
Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall
Apply successive coats of drywall compound to seams, joints, corners, and repairs
Install and finish corner bead
Complete drywall patches ranging from small repairs to larger sections
Repair drywall damaged by water, fire, or other property losses
Prepare walls and ceilings for painting
Match and blend repairs into existing walls and ceilings
Match and repair existing wall and ceiling textures
Install insulation and vapour barrier where required
Complete work to a clean, paint-ready finish
Protect customers' homes, belongings, and finished surfaces while completing work
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
Maintain and care for company tools and equipment
Coordinate with Project Managers, restoration technicians, carpenters, painters, and other trades
Communicate job progress, material requirements, and any site concerns to the Project Manager
Assist with other restoration and reconstruction tasks when required
Ensure work meets ServiceMaster Restore quality standards and industry best practices

Qualifications

3+ years of drywall installation and/or finishing experience preferred
Strong taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing skills
Experience completing drywall patches and repairs
Experience with residential and/or commercial construction
Restoration experience is considered an asset
Ability to produce a smooth, professional, paint-ready finish
Ability to match existing wall and ceiling textures
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Good planning and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Professional and respectful when working in customers' homes and businesses
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check
