  • Training for IABP, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management 
  • Assist with bedside procedures, such as central line and arterial line placement, bronchoscopy, intubation, chest tube insertion, and thoracentesis 
  • Fostering support for patients and families during critical illness   
  • Multiple DAISY Award nominees and 2 winners in 2023 
  • 5 Years CLABSI free in November 2023  
  • Creates an environment for learning by encouraging questions and growth  
  • Fosters an inclusive environment, with compassion for our team and patients, to provide excellence in care 
  • Active and involved Professional Governance at a unit and house wide level 

 

Requirements

  • Must Have - One Year of Current Critical Care Experience (ICU)
  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. 
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. 
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. 
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. 
  • Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
    • Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
