The successful candidate will be a strategic minded individual with 7+ years of progressive financial management and FP&A experience in a rapidly growing environment. Some mergers and acquisitions experience is necessary and exceptional financial modeling skills are mandatory. The role includes advising top executives on ways to use financial information to make strategic decisions about the organization’s future.
Career Progression: This role is intentionally designed for a high-performing finance leader looking to step into a corporate leadership track. For the right candidate, this position offers an accelerated pathway to VP of Finance and ultimately CFO as the company scales.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
This position will report directly to the Company’s CEO and will be the CEO’s and executive team's go-to employee for managing all financial data to support the Company’s M&A activities, lending relationships, investor communications, internal reporting, and many other activities.
This position will be expected to contribute to the continual development of the Company’s financial policies and procedures. We are growing rapidly and in the process of converting the Company to data-driven decision making. All employees, especially those at the Leadership level, are encouraged to help improve protocols and your voice will be a required part of that conversation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Global Team Management: Supported by an established, experienced global accounting staff that handles day-to-day transactional accounting and serves as the company's Controller function, allowing the Director of Finance to focus heavily on strategic FP&A and business partnership.
- Schedule Flexibility: The successful candidate must be willing to maintain a flexible schedule to ensure the highest level of collaboration and effectiveness with our global team across time zones.
- Strategic Advising: You will serve as a key strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership, leveraging financial insights to guide the organization’s future planning and decision-making.
- Financial Modeling: Maintaining, updating, and building sophisticated financial models from the ground up to support the Company’s evolving strategic needs.
- Analysis & Reporting: Rigorous analysis of financial results—including profitability, trends, and cost structures—against established budgets. You will be responsible for issuing both recurring and ad hoc reporting to the senior management team.
- Growth & Capital: Providing high-level guidance regarding capital financing strategies to fuel the Company’s rapid growth and expansion.
- Planning & Cross-Collaboration: Partnering with senior leadership on financial planning and results management. You will collaborate across the organization to identify revenue and cost drivers and implement data-driven reporting protocols.
- Compliance & Accounting: Coordinating the review of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages, while overseeing tax schedules and returns to ensure full compliance.
- Administrative Duties: Fulfilling other finance-related and administrative responsibilities as necessary within our fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Education & Experience:
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Professional certifications such as a CPA, CMA, and/or an MBA are considered highly advantageous.
- You possess 7+ years of robust financial management experience within service-based industries, demonstrating a deep proficiency in activity-based project costing.
- Proven track record in FP&A functions.
- A background operating within a rapidly growing start-up environment is strongly preferred.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong financial modeling skills are required, including integrated 3-statement models and scenario analyses. Exposure to or experience supporting corporate M&A activities is highly advantageous.
- Deep experience using QBO is desired.
