We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety programs, with a strong focus on EHS data analytics, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and waste management.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing chemical or hazardous waste programs, analyzing EHS metrics, preparing reports and dashboards, and supporting environmental compliance activities. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workplace safety, reduce environmental risks, and promote a proactive EHS culture.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, analyze, and report EHS data, including incidents, near misses, inspections, audits, training, and environmental metrics.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based dashboards, pivot tables, charts, and trend analyses.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports to support leadership and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across EHS reporting systems.
  • Support root cause analysis through data analysis, trends, and visualizations.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
  • Assist with environmental permitting, air permits, emissions tracking, and regulatory recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities, including waste profiles, manifests, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain EHS procedures, work instructions, compliance records, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct or support EHS inspections and compliance audits, tracking corrective actions through completion.
  • Research environmental regulations and industry standards to support compliance improvements.
  • Develop and maintain EHS training materials, presentations, job aids, and visual communication resources.
  • Coordinate onboarding and refresher training in collaboration with EHS and HR teams.
  • Monitor training completion, follow up on outstanding requirements, and report training metrics.
  • Support safety awareness campaigns, 5S initiatives, safety observations, and site-wide EHS communications.
  • Participate in EHS improvement projects focused on risk reduction, workplace safety, and visual management.
  • Support incident investigations, documentation, and corrective action tracking.
  • Assist with internal and external audit preparation.
  • Collaborate with EHS leadership on risk assessments, exposure reduction, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Approximately 7–10 years of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, R&D, or related environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Hands-on experience managing chemical or hazardous waste programs.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, and basic formulas.
  • Experience with EHS data analytics, metrics, reporting, or environmental tracking systems.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting, air emissions, waste management, wastewater, or stormwater compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States on an ongoing basis.
  • EHS certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
  • Experience supporting environmental audits, regulatory inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency with EHS management systems, incident tracking tools, and learning management systems.
