Electrical Engineer

ISO New England's Real-Time Market Application team is focused, passionate, team-oriented, and results-driven. The team is responsible for providing functional and technical expertise to projects and assignments pertaining to some of the most critical business functions inside the organization.   In this IT role, you will work with state-of-the-art Market & Energy Management Systems utilizing niche technologies to support the reliable and economic administration of the wholesale electricity market in New England.   What we offer you: A stable, mission-driven workplace where your impact truly matters A highly engaged work environment that values inclusion, collaboration, and employee safety and wellbeing Competitive compensation with a base salary + performance bonus Robust benefits package, including: Enhanced 401(k) and financial planning support Tuition reimbursement and professional development Wellness programs, including an onsite gym Flexible work hours Employee Business Networks  Free coffee at our onsite café Hybrid work environment (3 days/week onsite) Distance-based relocation assistance available Paid on-call rotation Travel 5-10%   How you will make an Impact Analyze, design, program, troubleshoot, and implement fixes associated with Real-Time Market Systems and related applications Plan, coordinate, and perform complex technical assignments related to software applications in support of the Operations, Market Administration, Internal Market Mitigation, and Outage Scheduling groups Provide production support to various internal and external-facing applications Coordinate with consultants and vendors on project deliverables Integrate software solutions across multiple applications, systems, and databases Follow Change Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) policies and procedures   What we are looking for Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or Computer Science required; advanced degree preferred Working knowledge of bulk power systems and energy market operations Programming skills in Java and Oracle technologies is required Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to participate in the on-call rotation, which may include working hours outside of the standard schedule; prior on-call experience is a plus Desired (but not required): Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, DevOps, GitOps, and Docker technologies Experience with GE Grid (formerly Alstom) MMS/EMS or similar products Knowledge of optimization algorithms     The expected salary range for an Engineer to Senior Engineer is $ $120,000 - $146,000 per year. We will also consider an Assistant Engineer to Associate Engineer. The pay range for those levels is $85,000 - $116,000 annually.
