Responsibilities

- →Awareness of the impact of disabilities and chronic illness on individuals and families
- →Knowledge of interviewing principles and techniques
- →Familiarity with community resources and public benefits eligibility requirements
- Strong communication, referral, and information-sharing skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Advocacy skills to support client access to services
- Proficiency with computer systems and standard office software
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to conduct effective interviews and complete assessments
- Ability to arrange, coordinate, and negotiate service referrals
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human services or a related field
- Inform USA (Association for Community Navigators) Certification within 1 year of hire
- Part-time (20 hours/week)
- Primarily office-based with occasional local travel
- Direct support of the JABA Helpline as a core job function
- Participation in community outreach events as needed
- Regular use of computer systems for documentation and resource tracking
- Meaningful work that directly supports older adults, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities
- Collaborative and mission-driven team environment
