Job Summary 


The Project Manager at Jim Myers & Sons Inc. (JMS) is responsible for the successful execution of assigned projects from project handoff through commissioning and closeout. This role serves as the primary execution leader for assigned projects and is accountable for maintaining schedule integrity, protecting project margin, coordinating cross-functional execution activities, and ensuring adherence to JMS Key Milestone Guidelines.


The Project Manager leads structured project execution across Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Vendors, Field Service, Finance, and Customers to deliver predictable, financially sound, and customer-aligned project outcomes.


Responsibilities


  • Own the full project lifecycle including kickoff, scheduling, execution, shipment, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Lead project execution activities in alignment with JMS Key Milestone Guidelines and business unit objectives.
    Develop, maintain, and actively manage project schedules, milestone dates, and execution priorities to support on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Field Service, Vendors, and Customers.
  • Monitor project financial performance including forecasting, costs, Estimate at Completion (EAC), and margin protection.
  • Manage project scope and coordinate formal change order processes prior to execution of cost-impacting work.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks related to schedule, financial exposure, procurement, manufacturing, and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate vendor activities, long-lead procurement planning, and supplier deliverables to support execution schedules.
  • Maintain visibility into fabrication progress, shipment schedules, installation activities, and commissioning readiness.
  • Provide clear and proactive communication with customers, vendors, internal teams, and leadership regarding project status, risks, schedules, and action items.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, forecasts, milestone tracking, and execution records throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the project management function and promote disciplined execution practices.
  • Follow all JMS policies and procedures while demonstrating professionalism and accountability aligned with JMS leadership expectations.


Qualifications, Desired Experience, and Skills


  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience within manufacturing, engineered equipment, construction, or related industries preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project financial management including forecasting, EACs, cost control, and margin management.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional execution teams in operational and manufacturing environments.
    Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with ERP and project management systems such as Epicor, Wrike, or similar platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to proactively manage schedules, communicate risks, and drive accountability across project stakeholders.


Education


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required; Master’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration (MBA) preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and advanced professional experience will be considered
