Join a team shaping the technology and workflows that support commercial insurance underwriting. In this leadership role, you will serve as the systems product owner for assigned lines of business, helping translate complex insurance requirements into effective solutions within Guidewire PolicyCenter. You will collaborate with underwriting, product, IT, actuarial, operations, billing, and claims stakeholders to deliver reliable, compliant, and user-friendly systems. From defining requirements and prioritizing backlogs to guiding testing and training, your work will directly influence system quality and operational efficiency. You will also provide informal leadership to fellow analysts, champion process improvements, and help deliver strategic projects. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced commercial insurance professional who combines strong analytical skills with a practical understanding of policy administration systems and business needs.

  • Own assigned lines of business: Support commercial insurance products across General Liability, Umbrella, Commercial Auto, Property and Crime, Inland Marine, Commercial Output, Workers’ Compensation, and Maritime Employers Liability, including applicable proprietary coverages such as Cyber, Employment Practices Liability, and Equipment Breakdown.

  • Manage the product backlog: Maintain, refine, and prioritize backlog items to ensure development efforts focus on the most valuable business needs and system enhancements.

  • Define business requirements: Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, document requirements and defects, and clarify functionality for development teams throughout the delivery process.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Partner with Underwriting Systems, Product Analysts, IT, Actuarial, Operations, Billing, Claims, Corporate Underwriting, and business users to gather requirements, validate needs, and incorporate feedback.

  • Coordinate release planning: Work with the Underwriting Systems Manager to establish release goals, determine priorities, and communicate scope and expectations to development teams.

  • Lead user acceptance testing: Contribute to the development, execution, and maintenance of test scenarios and acceptance tests to confirm that system enhancements meet business requirements and user expectations.

  • Develop training resources: Create and update system training materials covering assigned lines of business and common system functionality, helping business users understand and effectively apply system capabilities.

  • Provide informal leadership: Guide and support analysts working on production support, user acceptance testing, requirements documentation, defect reporting, and troubleshooting.

  • Drive project delivery: Oversee projects related to assigned lines of business or designated system functionality, including capacity planning, roadmap development, and execution against established plans.

  • Promote consistent practices: Help establish and maintain standards for requirements development, defect reporting, user acceptance testing, and underwriting system troubleshooting.

  • Champion continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, participate in retrospectives, and help implement changes that strengthen system performance and business workflows.

  • Support critical business needs: Investigate and resolve time-sensitive issues, exercising sound judgment to prioritize assignments and maintain underwriting integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness.
