This remote role is responsible for strengthening software quality through scalable, reliable test automation across an enterprise claims processing platform. You will design, implement, and maintain automated testing solutions while helping reduce reliance on repetitive manual testing. Working closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams, you will translate requirements and acceptance criteria into comprehensive testing strategies. The role combines hands-on automation engineering with framework ownership, defect investigation, and continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to shape automation standards, expand test coverage, and improve release confidence across web, API, and end-to-end workflows. It is an ideal opportunity for an experienced QA professional who enjoys solving complex problems and building robust testing practices within an Agile environment.

Review Jira stories, business requirements, and acceptance criteria to develop comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and cases covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end workflows.
Identify repetitive and high-value testing opportunities and translate them into effective automation solutions.
Evaluate, recommend, implement, and administer the organization's test automation framework and supporting tools.
Design, develop, maintain, and continuously improve automated test scripts for web, API, and system testing, including reusable libraries and testing standards.
Expand automation coverage as application functionality evolves while maintaining existing test suites and ensuring continued reliability.
Execute automated regression, smoke, and functional testing, while performing manual testing when automation is not practical or during new feature development.
Validate end-to-end business workflows across the claims processing platform and verify fixes before production releases.
Identify, document, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues, validate resolutions, and retest corrected functionality.
Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, defects, and release readiness throughout the development lifecycle.
Lead the ongoing evaluation and improvement of automation solutions, recommending process enhancements that increase testing efficiency and software quality.
Establish automation best practices, coding standards, documentation, and reusable testing approaches.
Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA colleagues throughout Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and releases.
Work with Product and Engineering teams to continuously evolve the organization's overall test automation strategy.
Stay current with emerging automation technologies, frameworks, tools, and industry best practices.

Requirements

3–5+ years of Quality Assurance experience with a strong focus on test automation.
Intermediate-level experience with SQL and database validation in a QA environment.
Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
Hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation.
Practical experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
Experience performing API testing using Postman.
Experience working with Jira and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, software development lifecycles, and defect management processes.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Experience implementing a test automation framework from the ground up is preferred.
Experience testing healthcare, claims processing, or other enterprise applications is preferred.
Familiarity with performance and load testing tools is a plus.
Experience mentoring QA professionals on automation practices and standards is preferred.
