This is a hands-on infrastructure role focused on building and evolving reliable, secure, scalable cloud environments.
You’ll help operate production infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms while improving reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
The role combines cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, automation, Kubernetes, security, and site reliability engineering.
You’ll turn manual processes into scalable automation and build tooling that enables engineering teams to deliver faster and with greater confidence.
You’ll collaborate closely with application, security, and infrastructure teams in a globally distributed environment.
The position offers significant ownership, technical challenges, and opportunities to influence infrastructure and operational standards.
Working hours will generally overlap with U.S. Pacific Time, with participation in a shared global on-call rotation.

Own and continuously improve production cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Azure, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, performance, security, and cost efficiency.
Participate in a global on-call rotation, respond to incidents, troubleshoot complex production issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement lasting remediation.
Improve infrastructure observability through effective monitoring, logging, alerting, performance analysis, and capacity planning, including the use of AI-assisted engineering tools for debugging and optimization.
Build and maintain developer platforms, deployment systems, release pipelines, and automation using technologies such as GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, and equivalent tools.
Design and maintain secure, scalable Terraform-based infrastructure as code, develop reusable modules, and automate infrastructure workflows using Python, Go, Shell, or similar technologies.
Operate production Kubernetes/GKE environments, covering deployment, scaling, networking, security, observability, troubleshooting, and operational improvements.
Design and troubleshoot cloud networking components including VPCs, firewalls, load balancers, routing, DNS, and WAFs.
Partner with security and engineering teams to implement secure-by-default infrastructure, covering identity and access management, network security, secrets management, and infrastructure security.
Collaborate with engineering teams on scalable architectures, production deployments, operational issues, and infrastructure best practices.
Mentor engineers and lead initiatives that improve reliability, security, developer productivity, and operational excellence.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or a closely related field, including hands-on experience operating production environments in GCP.
Strong practical experience with Terraform/IaC, CI/CD, and Kubernetes in production, using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Cloud Deploy, or equivalent technologies.
Solid understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, and networking, including VPCs, firewalls, load balancers, routing, DNS, and WAFs.
Experience securing cloud environments, preferably within GCP, including identity and access management, network security, secrets management, and infrastructure security.
Strong scripting or programming capabilities using Python, Go, Shell, or comparable languages.
Proven experience responding to production incidents, diagnosing complex infrastructure problems, and conducting effective root-cause analyses.
Strong ownership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a distributed team.
Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation supporting a globally distributed infrastructure organization.
Experience independently operating AWS or Azure environments is a plus.
Experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is a plus.
Experience securing containers and containerized environments across Docker, Kubernetes, or GKE is a plus.
Familiarity with advanced GCP security and governance capabilities such as Organization Policies, VPC Service Controls, Access Context Manager, and Binary Authorization is a plus.
Relevant cloud certifications, particularly Google Cloud Professional certifications, are an advantage.
