This role provides analytical and category management support designed to drive performance across customers, brands, and product categories.
You will manage syndicated data, product databases, customer scorecards, consumption reporting, shopper insights, and space planning.
The position offers hands-on exposure to leading CPG retailers, brands, competitive dynamics, and evolving consumer trends.
You will turn complex POS, shopper, and category data into clear insights that support commercial and merchandising decisions.
Working closely with Sales and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to customer presentations, category reviews, and account planning.
The role also provides opportunities to support Natural Channel and smaller accounts while developing toward greater customer-facing responsibilities.
This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity with minimal travel, a $90,000–$95,000 salary range, and an annual bonus opportunity.
As a Sr. Category Analyst, you will combine data management, business analysis, and category management to support customer and commercial performance. You will be responsible for maintaining reliable data, developing recurring reporting, identifying meaningful trends, and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
- Manage item and product databases across Circana, SPINS, and Nielsen, including new item submissions and ongoing maintenance.
- Track competitive products and new SKUs entering the market to keep databases accurate and up to date.
- Communicate database changes and updates to relevant internal teams.
- Partner with data providers and internal stakeholders to resolve data accuracy and item setup issues.
- Maintain and evolve recurring reporting as the business grows across retailers, products, and competitive dynamics.
- Develop and distribute customer scorecards using POS data from major retail customer portals.
- Provide high-level commentary and actionable insights on customer, brand, and category performance.
- Identify key drivers behind performance trends and highlight areas requiring further investigation.
- Develop and update weekly and monthly consumption and shopper reporting.
- Analyze POS, shopper, and category trends across brands, segments, pack sizes, pricing, promotion, and distribution.
- Communicate relevant market and shopper insights to internal teams.
- Support customer presentations, category reviews, and sales preparation with data-driven insights.
- Create planograms and shelf mock-ups for customer meetings, category reviews, and internal presentations.
- Use VisionGroup or comparable space-planning software to develop accurate and visually compelling shelf sets.
- Apply category and shopper insights to assortment and merchandising recommendations.
- Provide analytical and category management support to Natural Channel and smaller customer accounts.
- Support Sales teams with customer reporting, category insights, assortment analysis, and competitive tracking.
- Participate in customer preparation and meetings while building customer-facing and category management experience.

- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2–4 years of experience in Category Management, Customer Development, Sales Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related CPG function.
- Experience working with syndicated, POS, and/or consumer and shopper data.
- Experience with syndicated data providers such as Circana, SPINS, and/or Nielsen.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Knowledge of CPG, consumer, and shopper fundamentals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- CPG beverage category experience is preferred.
- Experience managing syndicated data or product/item databases is a plus.
- Experience with customer POS portals and scorecarding is preferred.
- Experience with VisionGroup or other planogram and space-planning software is a plus.
- Experience supporting Natural Channel or smaller CPG accounts is beneficial.
