Primary Location: United States (US) - Illinois - Ottumwa Function: Factory Engineering (CA) Title: Quality Engineer - 120299 Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position ## Your Responsibilities As a Quality Engineer for John Deere Ottumwa Works, located in Ottumwa, Iowa, you will support quality operations within the order fulfillment process Additionally, you will: * Use data to investigate, contain, and resolve quality issues through root cause identification * Work with cross functional teams to design inherent quality validation into processes * Lead quality planning and execution discussions (PMFEA, Control Plan, Dimensional analysis, QIT) and maintain historical performance documentation and metrics for team * Lead and actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) – improving and implementing departmental Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Delivery, ergonomic improvement and cost reduction ideas. * Execute engineering workflow activities to support design and process changes VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position ## What Skills You Need * Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. * Experience exhibiting technical aptitude in one of the following areas: metal fabrication, welding, assembly, or other manufacturing processes. * Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications ## What Makes You Stand Out * Work experience involving hands on use of quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, DPAR, PPAP, DMAIC, Six Sigma, and 8D Problem Solving * Knowledge of basic data analysis techniques.
