Genetic Counselor

• →Arranges collection of blood or other samples for clinical genetic testing.
• →Assist in the treatment of patients and families with known genetic disorders and of patients at risk for the development of genetic disorders.
• →Develops and implements genetic counseling services.
• →Provides education and counseling and interprets results for genetically influenced cancers.
• →Reviews patient information, evaluates family history, conducts risk assessment and recommends medical or genetic testing.
• →Serves as liaison between patients and their referring physician.
• →Participates in research, publication, education, and administrative projects as scheduled and directed from leadership.
• →Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

• Master's Degree in Genetics from an accredited College or University.
• High School Graduate
