Looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? As a Casual Relief Bus Driver in Elk Valley, you'll provide safe, reliable transportation services while supporting daily operations on an as-needed basis. Casual Drivers are called upon to cover scheduled vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, training, and other operational requirements. You will be trained on different routes and services, including HandyDART, Flex, and Health Connections. This role is more than just driving. It's about supporting independence, offering compassion, and ensuring every passenger feels valued. If you're dependable, service-minded, and enjoy helping others, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Safely transport passengers and provide door-to-door assistance
- →Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids
- →Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- →Operate a two-way radio and manage fares accurately
- →Maintain a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone
- →Report any incidents, vehicle defects, or passenger safety concerns
- →Fuel, wash, and check fluid levels of the vehicle
- →Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as required by Provincial legislation and record any minor vehicle defects onto the vehicle daily
- Valid Driver's License - minimum of Class 2 with Air Brake Endorsement
- Ability to pass the required enhanced criminal record check, and drug & alcohol test
- Provide a clean driver's abstract
- Ability to work independently and interact politely with the public and staff
- Physically able to perform all job duties
- Exceptional customer service skills
Nice to Have

- Familiarity with the Elk Valley area
- Class 1 or 2Q license
