Koniag IT Systems is seeking an Agile Business Analyst for a team performing full-service website maintenance across multiple WordPress platforms, in an agile environment. The team supports testing, training, help desk, development, and operations and maintenance across these platforms. The Agile Business Analyst role will be a facilitator of strong communication between all team members and all government stakeholders, ensuring the team is always working on the customer’s highest priorities in an Agile environment.
As an Agile business analyst, this position will serve as business analyst and scrum master, advocating for the customer’s priorities while also ensuring the team is on track with those priorities. Key activities will be writing roadmaps, epics, and stories to capture user requirements and support any questions related to them, and developing supporting processes to ensure the team is supported end to end, in crafting and delivering user stories. This hybrid role will also cross train to support testers as needed.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Develop processes to efficiently support Agile processes and ensure customer satisfaction
Serve as Scrum Master, advocating for customer priorities and ensuring team is aligned and completing these priorities
Lead meetings with the product owner
Manage scheduling, set agendas, ensure follow-up actions are captured and the loop closed on all requests.
Ensure all client requests, potentially from several sources of communication, are followed up on – for instance from Slack, Jira, conversations, etc.
Maintain quality statistics to gauge team’s effectiveness across development, QA, and BA functions.
Continually work to improve quality statistics via process improvements.
Decompose verbal communication about requirements provided by several government product owners into Use Cases and Epics
Create and maintain product roadmap, coordinating across several teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities
Create the sprint backlog using Jira based on knowledge of client priorities and upcoming staff vacation schedules effecting team capacity.
Answer questions by developers about use cases during Sprint, ensuring requirements and acceptance criteria are kept as clear as possible
Answer questions by testers about requirements and expected results during Sprint
Meet with clients to ask about any questions which are beyond the team’s current scope of understanding and communicate back to the appropriate team members.
Anticipate the client response based on experience from prior conversations, site consistency and design practices when appropriate.
Field questions about report bugs from the client during product acceptance testing and provide analysis on why the unexpected behavior
Write end-of- sprint documentation to include Sprint release notes and Sprint completion report.
Ensure demo videos are created and delivered for all stories, creating videos as needed with support from team members
Attend daily scrum meetings and support team members with any questions asked.
Write and execute test cases for the use cases created in the sprint.
Create Zephyr defect tickets for the developers that clearly details any problems reported
Provide minor environment administration to include running build scripts to build code in a test environment.
Reach out to the Lead Developer for any technical issues by describing actions taken and related symptoms.
Backup the task lead by writing/presenting weekly status reports to the client
Perform any high-level analysis as required by the Task Lead.
Example: Defect Summary reports, Work Breakout by Developer, etc.
As needed, be prepared to provide technical writing support by peer reviewing any communication to the client for items such as status reports or proposal responses.

2+ Experience with WordPress
Experience with Jira.
Formal certification in business analysis practice
8+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst preferred
Proven experience of successfully deploying business analysis tools/techniques to enable business change
Proven experience of working with complex integrated systems, using creative and strategic thinking to deliver exceptional results
Strong engagement, communication and stakeholder management skills, including excellent presentation and influencing skills
Experience of virtual collaboration to lead, shape and develop innovative solutions
Experience of working with and managing third party suppliers/vendors
Bachelor’s degree
Work with team and key stakeholders to enable a results-oriented team environment, fostering trust, communication, innovation, dependability, collective ownership, software craftsmanship, and a sense of urgency.
Able to lead team in creating feature roadmaps at the team level, including identifying dependencies, risks, possible impediments, resource issues and bottlenecks
Strong Story Writing / Splitting skills
Excellent Stakeholder Communication skills - written, oral and one-on-one
Excellent facilitation skills, able to collaborate, plan, execute and follow-up on meetings at the team level
Able to actively participate in the creation and maintenance of a unified Product/Tech initiative roadmap that aligns with business goals
Able to actively participate with Product, and Tech stakeholders / leads to identify dependencies, craft delivery strategies, and involve customers in early, incremental delivery of consumable solutions
Apply facilitation and dependency management techniques to drive delivery through planning, collaboration, and coordination
Facilitate story / epic level backlog refinement and prioritization
Ensure impediments are visible and tracked via Jira through to resolution, escalating when necessary.
Ensure project teams are following good practices
Provide monitoring and status tracking support for cross-team initiatives
Supports team’s automation (testing, pipelines, deployments)/DevOps journey
Fluent in the technical vocabulary that encompasses the software development process

Effectively identifies stakeholders from all areas of the business and actively builds and maintains relationships according to individual stakeholder needs and levels of influence.
Contributes to communication plans and change management for project and stakeholders.
Ability to understand and work in Agile sprints.
Business Analysis Planning:
Selects the appropriate analysis approach to a piece of work depending on its complexity, level of risk, known assumptions, constraints and dependencies.
Proficient in scoping and recommending appropriate approaches. Capable of planning and managing their own and other team member activities to meet deliverables and deadlines. Accountable for performance and quality of analytical work delivered, both their own and the work of others.
Requirements Analysis and Design Definition
Highly responsive to changing business priorities with the ability to plan ahead, accounting for potential changes and corrective actions.
Advanced requirements elicitation and management skill set; including traceability, testing and validation.
Leads the work with the business to identify functional and technical requirements, translating the requirements into design specifications reflecting Functional Design, User Interface Design and Business Process Design.
Solution Evaluation
Highly proficient in analyzing and assessing solution proposals and able to articulate supporting reasoning.
Optional:
Established knowledge of or some experience working with Government agencies
Practical usage of Agile Methodology
Exposure to User Centered Design and Design thinking (User Experience, Prototyping, User Interface Design and Business Process Design)
