Senior Firmware Engineer

Location: Gdańsk (Hybrid)Contract Type: Full Time, UoPRole: Firmware EngineerWe are also open to considering mid-level firmware engineers.As a member of our Firmware Team, you will co-create cutting-edge fire safety products at Kidde Global Solutions (www.kidde.com). You will play a key role in improving smoke, heat, and CO detectors for the residential market—developing ultra-low-power, robust wireless communication protocols and enhancing detection algorithms. Working with us means participating in every stage of product development: from system analysis and architectural decisions to implementation, documentation, and collaboration with laboratories, production lines, and customer support. We value ownership and accountability—you will be responsible for your subsystem while maintaining a clear understanding of how it integrates with the broader system. Your Responsibilities Develop firmware and contribute to system architecture Prototype and validate new concepts of fire hazard sensing technologies Collaborate with hardware, analytics, and test engineers Mentor junior engineers Conduct code reviews and audits Technical Skills Required Strong experience in embedded C Experience with unit testing Hands-on experience with Cortex-M0+ systems (e.g., STM, TI, Holtek), both bare-metal and lightweight RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Segger embOS) Familiarity with debugging tools and programmers Ability to read and understand electronic schematics Experience in low-power and battery optimization Experience with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes Proficiency with Git Soft Skills Ownership mindset and willingness to take responsibility for a specific area Ability to break down complex tasks into manageable components Proactive risk identification and communication Good written and spoken English Nice to Have Experience with radio communication (sub-1 GHz, BLE, Zigbee, etc.) Basic knowledge of cryptography and ARM secure key storage Familiarity with DevOps practices We Offer Stable employment in a mature engineering environment Opportunities for career growth and professional development A culture that encourages independence, creativity, and continuous learning Competitive salary and benefits package:  Meal Vouchers LuxMed Medical Insurance MultiSport Card IKE/IKZE Additional Pension Contribution Individuals may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance.
