About the Role

Koalafi is looking for Software Engineers to help build and scale the products and platforms that power our financing solutions. As part of a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, and technical leaders, you’ll contribute to customer-facing applications, internal tools, and backend services that support critical business functions across the company.

We’re seeking engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, building reliable systems, and collaborating closely with teammates to deliver meaningful business impact. Depending on team placement, you’ll work on a mix of new product development, platform enhancements, system integrations, and modernization efforts that help us deliver a seamless experience for customers, merchants, and internal stakeholders.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a modern technology stack, contribute to both new and existing systems, and help shape solutions in a fast-moving environment. Success in this position requires curiosity, strong technical fundamentals, and the ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases while continuously improving the systems around you.

Responsibilities

→Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
→Build integrations with internal and third-party systems
→Contribute to customer-facing applications and internal tools using modern frontend technologies
→Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
→Participate in the design and implementation of distributed systems, workflows, and event-driven architectures
→Support initiatives that improve performance, reliability, and scalability across the platform

Requirements

Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging patterns
Experience in fintech, lending, payments, e-commerce, or other highly regulated industries
Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms
Experience working with microservices architectures
Knowledge of cloud security and secrets management
Interest in leveraging AI tools to accelerate software development
