Cloud Security Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to help secure and strengthen our cloud and hybrid environments. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain security controls that protect identities, systems, endpoints, and data while supporting regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

You will work closely with infrastructure and IT teams to ensure secure architecture, proactive threat monitoring, and continuous improvement across our security landscape.

What You’ll Do

• Implement and maintain security controls across cloud and hybrid environments
• Manage identity and access solutions (IAM), endpoint protection, and monitoring tools
• Perform threat analysis, vulnerability management, and incident response
• Support secure architecture and project delivery initiatives
• Align technical controls with regulatory and organizational requirements
• Develop and maintain security documentation, standards, and runbooks
• Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response planning
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to continuously improve security posture
  
  

What We’re Looking For

 
Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in IT, cloud engineering, systems administration, or cybersecurity
• Experience working with cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments
• Exposure to project-based environments and operational transitions
• Experience supporting enterprise or commercial clients is a plus
  
  
  

Technical Skills

 
Identity & Access Management (IAM)

• Identity lifecycle management, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC, least-privilege principles
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
  
  

Endpoint & Platform Security

• Endpoint configuration, compliance, OS hardening, patching, EDR
• Tools: Microsoft Intune, SCCM/Endpoint Manager
• Platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android

Threat Detection & Response (SecOps)

• Security monitoring, incident response, threat hunting, log analysis
• Tools: Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR), KQL

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Experience supporting audits, risk remediation, and data protection
• Tools: Microsoft Purview, DLP, sensitivity labels, retention policies
• Frameworks: NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0, PCI DSS, GDPR, CIS, Zero Trust

Security Automation

• Scripting (PowerShell, Bash/ZSH)
• Automation tools: Power Automate, Sentinel playbooks
• Experience working with AI tools in a secure environment (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) is a plus

Foundational Knowledge

• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls)
• Cloud and hybrid security principles
• Backup and recovery technologies (Azure Recovery Vault, Veeam, etc.)

Preferred Certifications

• CompTIA Security+, Network+, or A+
• Microsoft Security Certifications (e.g., SC-200, SC-300, SC-900, AZ-500)
• Advanced certifications (for senior candidates): CISSP, CISM, CRISC
• Other equivalent cloud or security certifications are also accepted
