Lake Superior State University Athletics is seeking dependable, detail-oriented, and professional individuals to serve as Off-Ice Officials for NCAA Division I men’s hockey home games. Off-Ice Officials play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of game operations through scorekeeping, statistics, timing, and video replay duties in accordance with NCAA and CCHA (Central Collegiate Hockey Association) standards.
This position requires a high level of focus, impartiality, and professionalism, as well as the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, live game environment.
General Off-Ice Official Duties
Official Scorekeeper: Maintain the official game scoresheet, including goals, assists, penalties, and shots on goal.
Timekeeper: Operate the official game clock and ensure accurate timing of periods, penalties, and intermissions.
Statisticians: Track and input real-time game statistics including shots, faceoffs, blocked shots, hits, etc., using NCAA LiveStats or similar software.
Remain impartial and uphold the highest standards of competitive integrity.

Strong knowledge of ice hockey rules, particularly NCAA regulations.
Ability to work nights and weekends in accordance with the hockey schedule.
Comfortable with computers, game management software, and video replay systems.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy under pressure.
Must maintain professionalism, neutrality, and confidentiality at all times.
USA Hockey or NCAA Officiating Certification (active or former) is a plus.
Experience with NCAA LiveStats, StatCrew, or similar statistics platforms.
Familiarity with DV Sport, XOS, or other replay/video review systems.
