Upper School Counselor

Description

• →Adhere to the school’s mission and the principles of classical education
• →Meet with students on an as-needed basis to provide counseling at the school level
• →Communicate with parents regarding student concerns
• →Collaborate with the Dean of Students on matters in which there is crossover between counseling and discipline
• →Serve as a school-wide point of contact for mandatory reporting and make appropriate referrals to Georgia DFCS
• →Schedule and facilitate annual and new Section 504 eligibility meetings with teachers, parents, and other support staff members
• →Provide teachers with a copy of student 504 plans and ensure their understanding
• →Keep up-to-date records of all 504 Plans in Infinite Campus, the school’s Student Information System

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
• Master’s degree in school counseling preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills required
• Effective written and verbal communication required
• Experience working in education or a charter school system is strongly preferred
