Requirements
~1 min readThis house is located at Glenmore Park. The young person in our care loves to play at the park, going to Flip Out and all things active. Our ideal candidates will be able to nurture their high energy and enthusiasm.
This role would also suit candidates who are experienced in helping children and young people navigate complex pain-based trauma behaviours with empathy and compassion. Experience working with young people living with autism spectrum disorder is also highly regarded.
As a youth worker within our interim care team, you will provide direct support and mentorship to children and young people (generally aged 9-14 years). The children and young people we care have likely faced childhood trauma, abuse or neglect and our homes are often their first experience in a residential care setting.
Your role will be to ensure a safe, homelike environment that supports children and young people to thrive, learning key life skills including independent living skills, problem solving and building appropriate and positive relationships with others.
Our interim care services operate 24/7, therefore it is essential that successful applicants are able and willing to work a roster which regularly includes afternoon, sleepover and weekend shifts.
